I loved Nicholas Sparks “Message In A Bottle”
“Nothing that’s worthwhile is ever easy. Remember that.”
“If you like her, if she makes you happy, and if you feel like you know her—then don’t let her go.”
“True love is rare, and it’s the only thing that gives life real meaning.”
“Without you in my arms, I feel an emptiness in my soul. I find myself searching the crowds for your face – I know it’s an impossibility, but I cannot help myself.”
“Thank you for coming into my life and giving me joy, thank you for loving me and receiving my love in return. Thank you for the memories I will cherish forever. But most of all, thank you for showing me that there will come a time when I can eventually let you go.
From Charles Martin’s “When Crickets Cry.”
“…but maybe life is like that – you never know when something that’s been hidden is going to rise up and bite you, or glow with a golden hue.”
“People marvel at the genius of Mozart because he supposedly wrote “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” at the age of three and composed his first symphony at the age of twelve. And yes, of course he was a genius, but another way to look at it is that he just discovered early what it was God made him to do. That’s all. For some reason, God gave him a little extra, or a little something different, and Mozart found out what that was and then got a head start on using it. Of course he was brilliant, but that’s not the point. The point is he knew, and then he got to work.”
(title of book) “Why, their crying.” I leaned in and tried to hear. She whispered in my ear “only if you listen closely, and you WANT TO, you can hear when the crickets cry.” I leaned in again. “No, no, no. You don’t listen with your ears, you hear them with your heart.” “Why are they crying?” “Because they know it’s their life for mine.”
“In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” Elizabeth’s astonishment was beyond expression. She stared, coloured, doubted, and was silent. This he considered sufficient encouragement, and the avowal of all that he felt and had long felt for her, immediately followed. He spoke well, but there were feelings besides those of the heart to be detailed, and he was not more eloquent on the subject of tenderness than of pride. His sense of her inferiority—of its being a degradation—of the family obstacles which judgment had always opposed to inclination, were dwelt on with a warmth which seemed due to the consequence he was wounding, but was very unlikely to recommend his suit”
Elizabeth was much too embarrassed to say a word. After a short pause, her companion added, “You are too generous to trifle with me. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes are unchanged, but one word from you will silence me on this subject forever.” Elizabeth feeling all the more than common awkwardness and anxiety of his situation, now forced herself to speak; and immediately, though not very fluently, gave him to understand, that her sentiments had undergone so material a change, since the period to which he alluded, as to make her receive with gratitude and pleasure, his present assurances.”
I love Their Eyes were Watching God, by Zora Neale Hurston. I definately recommend it to everyone!
“Ships at a distance have every man’s wish on board. For some they come in with the tide. For others they sail forever on the horizon, never out of sight, never landing until the Watcher turns his eyes away in resignation, his dreams mocked to death by Time. That is the life of men. Now, women forget all those things they don’t want to remember and remember everything they don’t want to forget. The dream is the truth. Then they act and do things accordingly.”
I decided to start posting a daily quote based on a topic i choose for the month! So starting today for the rest of April I’m choosing quotes from books i love!
obsessed smitten with The Hunger Games. Not the movie but the books. I love them and the themes they present about our society and about relationships.

i was volunteering today at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the most amazing thing all day was teaching a little boy how to read. Normally kids just want to color but he picked up every book and wanted to keep them so when i offered that he read to me he chose a smaller book with few words. He was about 8 and i said that book is for smaller children how about a bigger book and he declined saying he liked Thomas the train and wanted to read this one. As he started he looked up at me and hesitated to say the first words, and he said he couldnt read well. So i helped him through the book only reading the pages with a sentence because he became so overwhelmed with too many words.
I loved that he had the passion and the desire to read even if he couldnt do it very well. Most people would give up and just stick to things they knew..like coloring. But not him his big grin when he got a word right was the best feeling ever! And he begged to keep the book but his mother told him no! it was saddening to me that i couldnt give him the book and im sad i couldnt help him more. But i know his passion and determination will get him far and life. More people need that fire within them.
